The clash of battle was almost deafening, as chainswords met choppas on the southern front. The greenskin xenos had emerged from the jungle in waves, throwing themselves against the bolter fire and blades of the Iron Angels. Inquisitor Jariah Gray motioned to a thick copse of trees with his enormous power sword, and the gunnery crew of the Land Raider Redeemer Triumph unleashed a burst of superheated promethium into a swarm of orks. He fired his boltpistol into the crowd and lept in to execute those few Orks who would dare defy the Emperor by burning too slowly.
In the distance, he could see his lines wavering. Many of his men had already fallen to the green tide. There would be no retreat today, but victory would come at a great cost. Then he heard them. Like thunderstrikes in the distance, they struck with a fury unmatched by even his own men. The dropships unfurled and from within emerged the titanic dreadnaughts of the Iron Knights. Jariah simply nodded as their captain emerged and waded into the melee. It would be a good day; the Emperor was pleased.
